SUMMARY:Reeling: About Us But Not About Us
DESCRIPTION:When a literature professor\, Eric\, and his ambitious former student\, Lance\, meet up for lunch at a downtown Manila restaurant\, on the surface everything seems fineâ?¦ even pleasant. Despite their generational divide\, Eric and Lance are closely connected\, and both men are members of the Gay literary community. As the lunch continues\, their shared past is slowly revealed in more detail\, adding layer after suspenseful layer\, complicating their relationship\, and ratcheting up the tension seething under what seemed like a perfectly amicable rendezvous. An insidious secret festers under the surface\; ever-present in the mind of both men is the memory of Marcus\, a celebrated Filipino writer and Ericâ??s longtime partner\, who was recently found dead - the victim of a suspected suicide. As more revelations and secrets are brought to light\, Eric and Lance find themselves caught in a dangerous game of cat and mouse. Told in real time over the course of 90 minutes\, ABOUT US BUT NOT ABOUT US slowly unravels the twisted web of the charactersâ?? relationship\, plunging into their deepest desires and darkest impulses. By the end of the meal\, things are clearly not what they seemed.
