SUMMARY:In The Summers
DESCRIPTION:A stunningly beautiful portrait of two siblings growing up in New Mexico over a decade. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize and Directing Award at the Sundance Film Festival\, the film follows Violetta and Eva as they spend their summers with their father (played by Latinx rapper Residente). As Violetta’s queerness reveals itself\, the relationships between the siblings and their father grow more complex\, putting a microscope on the nuances of the feminine in relation to the masculine. Offering a unique\, fragile depiction of life’s roots\, of nature and nurture\, home and family\, instability and distance\, this is a film that grabs hold of you and remains long after the credits roll.
