SUMMARY:If You Should Leave Before Me
DESCRIPTION:Equal parts fantastical\, heartfelt\, and quietly devastating\, IF YOU SHOULD LEAVE BEFORE ME is a stunning meditation on grief\, love\, and the strange things we do to avoid pain. After a shattering loss strains the marriage of Mark and Joshua\, the longtime couple finds solace in their unconventional work: guiding the recently deceased to the afterlife. From behind the yellow-tiled walls of their modded-out 1960s home\, mysterious doors appear\, each one a passageway into the emotional limbo of a lost soul with unfinished business. The chemistry between the leads fortifies this portrait of long-term love tested by tragedy and held together by shared history. A singular work that plays by its own rules\, IF YOU SHOULD LEAVE BEFORE ME finds transcendence in its oddity and tenderness in the most haunted of places.
