About GoPride
Our editorial standards
Factual reporting, an LGBTQIA+ perspective and a clear commitment to reader trust guide our work.
Accuracy and context
We work to verify names, dates, quotations, claims and event details. We prefer original documents and people with firsthand knowledge, attribute consequential information and distinguish what is known from what remains uncertain.
An LGBTQIA+ perspective
LGBTQIA+ lives, rights, culture, joy and everyday experiences are worthy of serious coverage. Our reporting process is factual and fair. Human dignity does not require false balance with unsupported or dehumanizing claims.
Independent judgment
Advertisers, sponsors, publicists and subjects may supply information. They do not purchase or control independent editorial decisions. Paying for advertising does not guarantee news coverage or a favorable review.
Clear content labels
News and reported features are distinct from opinion, commentary and reviews. Paid or partnered material should be identified clearly so readers can understand the relationship behind it.
Names, identity and privacy
We respect people’s stated names and identities and avoid speculation about sexual orientation, gender identity or other sensitive personal information. Appearing in a photograph or article does not establish a person’s identity or imply endorsement.
Photographs and rights
Documentary photographs should preserve the meaning of the scene. Captions and credits matter. Illustrations, composites and synthetic media need clear treatment when readers could mistake them for documentary evidence.
AI assistance
AI may assist with production tasks, but it is not a source or a substitute for accountable editorial judgment. Human review must verify factual claims and preserve quotations, context and rights.
Corrections and concerns
If you believe something is wrong, send the page URL, the specific issue and supporting information. We review concerns and make corrections or clarifications where warranted. Material factual corrections should be explained visibly.
