About GoPride
What is GoPride Chicago?
GoPride Chicago is an LGBTQIA+-centered publication and local resource bringing news, interviews, events, places and photographs together through ChicagoPride.com.
Who is the website for?
Our primary audience is LGBTQIA+ readers. Allies, visitors, community organizations and businesses are welcome to explore and take part.
How are GoPride Chicago and ChicagoPride.com connected?
GoPride Chicago is the Chicago edition of GoPride. ChicagoPride.com is the website name associated with that local publication and resource.
Who operates the website?
GoPride Corporation is the legal operating company. GoPride Networks is used in corporate and partnership contexts.
How did GoPride begin?
Our roots include a one-page Chicago Pride Parade guide created by Ron Matthew Inawat in 1999 and a 2002 partnership with Steve Long of QChicago.com. Read our story for more.
How can I contact the right person?
Use the contact form and choose the topic that best fits your message. The options cover editorial, events, advertising, sponsorships, photographs, technical help and more.
News and editorial
How do I suggest a story?
Choose News tips and editorial on the contact form. Explain what is happening, why it matters to LGBTQIA+ readers, the relevant dates and how we can verify the information.
Can I send a press release?
Yes. Send the essential information and a link through the editorial contact topic. Include a contact person and any deadline. A release is a source for review, not a guarantee of publication.
Does buying advertising guarantee coverage?
No. Advertising and sponsorship do not purchase editorial endorsement or control independent coverage. Paid content should be clearly identified.
How do I report a factual error?
Choose Corrections and editorial concerns. Include the article URL, the specific wording and reliable information that supports the correction.
Can I write or take photographs for GoPride?
We welcome inquiries. Choose Contributing and careers, describe your experience and include links to examples. Availability, assignments and terms must be agreed with the team.
How does GoPride use AI?
AI may assist production tasks, but it is not a reporting source or a substitute for human editorial judgment. Facts, quotations, rights and context still require review. See our editorial standards.
Events and local listings
How do I submit an event?
Use Add your event. Include the event name, start date and time, location, description, organizer and relevant links. If you need help, choose Events and calendar on the contact form.
What details should an event listing include?
Give readers the date, time, venue or online location, organizer, description and ticket or information URL. Include cost, age restrictions and accessibility details when known.
Is every submitted event published?
No. Submissions are reviewed for relevance and usable information. Sending an event does not guarantee publication, a particular placement or editorial coverage.
How do I correct or cancel an event listing?
Send the listing URL through Events and calendar, explain the change and identify your relationship to the event. Include a source where the revised details can be confirmed.
Does a listing mean GoPride organizes the event?
No. A listing does not make GoPride the organizer or ticket seller. Consult the event’s organizer for tickets, admission, accessibility, refunds and current arrangements.
How do I update a business or venue listing?
Choose Business and directory listings on the contact form. Include the listing URL, requested changes, an official website and your relationship to the business.
Advertising and sponsorships
How much does advertising cost?
Current rates are available by request. Share your objective, campaign dates, preferred placements and budget range so the team can discuss an appropriate proposal.
Can I buy ads instantly on the website?
Online ad purchasing is planned. For now, contact the advertising team for current options and booking.
Where can I get audience figures and a media kit?
Visit the media kit for publication background and opportunities. Request current audience figures, reporting periods and rates from the advertising team.
What should I send with an advertising inquiry?
Include your business or organization, goal, dates, destination URL, budget range and any existing creative. Ask for current specifications before producing final assets.
Can GoPride sponsor our event or organization?
You can submit a proposal through Sponsorships and community partnerships. Explain the purpose, participants, dates, requested support and what each partner would provide. Support depends on fit and availability.
When can we use GoPride’s name or logo as a sponsor?
Only after the relationship and permitted use have been confirmed. A submitted proposal, calendar listing or news story does not itself authorize a sponsorship claim or logo use.
Photos, permissions and media
Where can I find event photographs?
Start in the photo galleries. If you need help locating an album, contact us with the event name, approximate date and venue.
May I reuse a GoPride photograph?
Ask first unless your use is already permitted by law or a license. Choose Copyright and permissions and provide the image URL, intended use, format and publication details.
How do I raise a concern about a photograph?
Choose Photos and image concerns. Include the gallery or image URL and describe the issue. Explain any safety or privacy concern clearly, without sending unnecessary sensitive information.
Does appearing in a photo identify someone as LGBTQIA+?
No. A photograph, name or appearance on the site does not establish sexual orientation, gender identity or endorsement.
Can I share an article on social media?
You can share a link to the article. Republishing the article or its images is different from linking and may require permission from the rights holder.
How can journalists request an interview or brand assets?
Choose Press and media relations. Include your outlet, subject, intended use and deadline. Approved assets and usage permissions are confirmed for the request.
