Sandbag Dam

This stunning tale of second chances features a forbidden small-town romance set in a village endangered by rising rivers and restrictive community traditions. Marko, a young athlete, has his life turned upside down when his first love, Slaven, returns for his father’s funeral. As impending floods threaten the village, Marko feels torn between abiding by his father’s uber-masculine expectations and his desire to rekindle a romance with Slaven. Marko must make a choice all queer people must make: Do what is expected of us, or carve our own path. A beautiful ode to heavy hearts on the verge of change.
