About this event
Equality Illinois Education Project and the Leather Archives & Museum (LA&M) cosponsor a seminar to educate people on the importance of the Illinois civil union bill (House Bill 1826) and legal protections for the LGBT community.
Representatives from the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago (LAGBAC) will be on hand to guide the attendees through the process of creating protective documents such as living wills and powers of attorney, and discuss the importance of creating a will.
Rep. Greg Harris will be speaking along with Rick Garcia (Public Policy Officer, Equality Illinois) and Chuck Renslow (LA&M President) on the status of the bill and the impact it will have on the community.
Limited space is available and it is recommended to RSVP no later the May 1 by calling 773-761-9200 or by e-mail at archives@leatherarchives.org.
