About this event
There is no pride in self-destruction! Nobody wants to talk about it in a real way- why women actually cut, starve or drug themselves, what it feels like, and why it is so socially acceptable to self-destruct. Based on the essays of her newest book, "Live Through This- The Art of Self-Destruction" (featuring original stories, essays, artwork and photography, Nan Goldin, Eileen Myles, bell hooks and other living women artists), Sabrina Chapadjiev will be leading a workshop on the themes that surround female self-destruction: shame, power, and control, as well as ways to channel self-destructive behaviors into creative ones.
Where: Burkhart's Underground - 1228 N. Noble Street, Rear Coach House, Chicago IL
When: Saturday, May 31st 2-4 pm
Cost: suggested donation $5. No one turned away for lack of funds.
