Northalsted Halloween Parade

The 12th Annual Triangle Neighbors' Northalsted Halloween Parade hosted by Miss Foozie . The costume parade has become the city’s most renowned Halloween event drawing thousands of spectators. It’s a creative, fun and entertaining event for the entire community that raises funds for our community garden park. And a Friday night parade means a huge crowd so we’ve applied to extend the parade route north to Addison. As in past years, we expect to see costumes from garish to ghoulish-worn by adults, kids and pets. The costume contest has been a huge success and we anticipate imaginations to run wild again this year! It’s the year of the “Rat” in Chinese Zodiac and so we’re hoping to see everything from “Ratatouille” to “The Rat Pack” to “Rugrats”. To participate in the parade, you must sign up before 6:45PM . Free registration at Spin (800 W Belmont) begins at 5:30PM on Halloween. Adults must have a photo ID with them to register. Kids and Pets register behind Spin. Everyone who wants to march in the parade is required to register BEFORE the parade. The parade kicks off Halloween night at 7:00PM and marches from Melrose to Brompton on Halsted. Halsted will be closed to traffic from Belmont to Addison approximately 6:00PM to 9:30PM. Roscoe will be closed to thru traffic earlier in the afternoon for the stage and tent set up. Side streets (Melrose, Aldine, Buckingham, Roscoe, Newport, Cornelia, and Brompton) will also be blocked during the parade itself to thru traffic.
