Atomic Sketch Event

As Chicago Artists' Month concludes, the monthly Atomic Sketch Event continues its tradition of engaging events centered around the process of art-making and creating community between artists and art enthusiasts. During each Atomic Sketch Event, artists create a variety of original new works and sell them for extremely affordable prices. In many cases, artists whose studio work sells for hundreds or even thousands of dollars will sell pieces for less than $50. Sponsored by Templeton American Rye Whiskey with drink specials, and hosted by local art triumvirate, bcd collaborative, Atomic Sketch Event takes place, as always, at evilOlive nightclub at 1551 W. Division, and will be held on Thursday October 29th, 2009 from 6pm to 10pm. The artists' panel for October consists of Ryan P Young, emmy star brown, [ad7m], Michael Kostal, rickikat, SUPAQOOT, Nalleli Sierra and Sandra Sierra As always, drop-in artists are also welcome to create and sell work, however, as the night has increased in popularity, space fills up quickly. Artists not on the panel are urged to show up early. In addition to the panel of artists, Atomic Sketch selects a featured artist, whose work will be showcased at evilOlive for the month following, to be concluded before the next month's Atomic Sketch Event. This month's featured artist will be Ryan P. Young, who will be displaying a show entitled "Knock on Wood," featuring works on custom-cut solid wood panels. This is a show you don't want to miss!
